| Bio |
Kay lives in beautiful Bathurst in the central west of New South Wales, Australia. She is the mother of two adult sons and recently became the proud grandmother of a gorgeous little girl.
Kay has a rather varied range of experiences that have led her to her current position as MISP International Trainer. She started her career in the far west of NSW, Australia, as a primary school teacher before shifting gears somewhat and marrying into a local family of graziers. She subsequently spent about 16 years on a sheep station near Bourke where she raised her 2 boys and taught them via School of the Air, before drifting back into teaching and further study (adult education, distance education, training teachers in the Reading Recovery program).
In 1998 Kay completed a diploma in remedial massage that led to her quitting her day job and setting up her own therapy practice in 2000, and in 2005 she trained as a MISP Instructor with Carol Trower and Jean Barlow who were invited to Australia to run the first training courses held there. She knew as soon as she began the course that she just had to become a Trainer as soon as she could in order to spread the MISP in Australia and has been working tirelessly towards this aim ever since, completing the final stage of her MISP Trainer training in January 2008. Kay now spends her time happily juggling conducting MISP courses across Australia, running infant massage and MISP classes in her local area, and looking after the needs of her massage clients.
Kay has been a very proactive pioneer of MISP in Australia and is now the President of Massage in Schools Australia Inc (MISA) and a Board member of the International Massage in Schools Association. She is passionate about seeing MISP accepted and established in schools across Australia and is available to conduct courses in all states (as well as in other countries) and is able to draw upon the range of her experiences in both education and massage therapies to provide an enjoyable and informative course in a supportive environment.
